20th-21st Century Shooting Talers
These
coins are issued as legal tender during the respective shooting festivals, and
thus bear a monetary denomination. Many of the 1934 and 1939 5Fr issues
circulated after the festivals, since silver coins were scarce and were the same
size and silver content as regular 5Fr coins. 50Fr coins are silver. 100Fr,
200Fr, 500Fr and 1000Fr coins are gold. Designs
of the gold coins are the same as the silver counterparts, except for
denomination. Note: 1000Fr coins contain 0.75233 oz. AGW, and 500Fr coins
contain 0.45 - 0.5 oz AGW, depending on fineness and weight, which varies from
year to year as experiments continue. Catalog

Krause 20th C. “Standard Catalog of World Coins”, “Unusual World
Coins” 4th Edition, “Münzenkatalog.ch”, and the new HMZ Katalog
offered in the “Books and Albums” section.

I am having a hard time
keeping this section up-to-date. This is the most active section on the
website, and these are very popular at shows when I display them. I recently
purchased two large collections, and have a third in negotiation. Please be
sure to email before ordering to be sure I have the one you want. I also have a

I indicate “original case”
only if I’m sure, i.e. the case is embossed, etc. I have on hand many old
un-embossed (or otherwise unidentifiable) medal cases that will fit many of
these. If you want a case with a medal, and I have one that fits, add $2 for
additional packing and postage.
